Cheyne Hill Race, 21 Aug 2014
Aug 25, 2014

From Gary Gutteridge

A great evening for the race as the rain had finally stopped and we had a hint of the late sun. A good turn out of 40 people for the senior race and 5 for the junior race. The 4th and final race in the Cosmic and Deeside Summer Series Hill Races 2014. No mishaps and nobody got lost. Although no race records were broken this year there were age category improvements all round especially in the juniors where the Chapman brothers both set new records.

SHR Scottish Championships after Lomonds of Fife
Aug 21, 2014
The Lomonds of Fife was the fourth race of this year's Scottish Championships and the second medium race but with a relatively small field at the only long race so far, the Glenshee 9, not many people have completed four races yet. This means that most championship categories have not been decided, in fact many are too hard to call as are either very close and/or depend on who turns up for the last two races ! .....

Great Wilderness Challenge 16 Aug 2014
Aug 19, 2014

From Alex Macrae

On a day of almost incessant rain, blustery headwinds and courses holding a lot of water – and debris - as the result of the previous weekend’s monsoon, the races went ahead as planned, with understandably slower times this year. The races provided three new winners, with Ross Bannerman (Highland Hill Runners) taking the 25 mile victory on his 10th appearance at the event. Melanie Gaff (Wester Ross AC) won the ladies race on her debut. The 13 mile race was won by previous winner Chris Scott-Park from Gartocharn and Ist Lady was newcomer Aisling McGhee from Glasgow. Special thanks go to all the marshals and helpers, Dundonnell Mountain Rescue, HM Coastguard and PDG Helicoptersfor ensuring a safe and successful event in unseasonal conditions.

Please see results section for the 13 and 25 mile events
